2019-2020 Mini-Grant Awarded to Wardman Library for Campus Conversations on Open Educational Resources

Open Educational Resources (OER) are teaching, learning and research material in any medium- digital or otherwise- including textbooks that reside in the public domain or have been released under an open license that permits no-cost access, use, adaptation and redistribution by others  with no or limited restrictions.

Objective:
Gather campus-wide input on how our institution can benefit from the adoption of Open Educational Resources (OER).

Why:
College affordability, including the rising costs of textbooks are issues that require informed and organized discussion. There are many options and benefits for faculty and students in using OER.

Who:
Thanks to a small grant ($800) from the Statewide California Electronic Library Consortium (SCELC), the College Library and Faculty Development are facilitating an OER Learning Group that includes faculty, staff, and students. These OER campus conversations are open to all.

Interested?
If you would like to join in on the OER Campus Conversations, please get in touch with David McCaslin (dmccasli@whittier.edu), Azeem Khan (akhan2@whittier.edu), or Sonia Chaidez (schaidez@whittier.edu) at Wardman Library.
